Autumn Arrives

We have both kinds of mums in stock.
The beautifully domed garden mums and the Winter Hardy that are perennial for here.
In addition to mums, we have beautiful celosia, zinnias, sunflowers, grasses and kale for your fall planters.
Its also a great time to plant perennials and shrubs, we still have a pretty good supply.
Come and see the great little pumpkin and jack'o lantern pots.

Thank you for another year!

Dear Customers and Friends,

We have had a wild year this 2017.  We are beyond GRATEFUL for your patronage to help build another successful season at Garden Expressions.
With the hard work and help of the world's finest Friends and Customers, we overcame a series of incredibly difficult circumstances. We lost friends and customers this year who hold a sacred spot in our hearts and memories.
Be it health, hail, accidents and tragedies, We close this season with the peace that only comes when you know something beautiful has been grown, harvested and will be replanted to see another one.

With our deepest Thanks, See you all in March.
Jonna and Dick

Premature yellowing and leaf drop

Are your trees and shrubs yellowing, browning and dropping?
Water them thoroughly. It is so dry. New Richmond Wisconsin has had less than 2" for the month of August and July was only 3.5".
We had a lot of moisture early this spring but we were coming out of a drought. Do not count on rain. Water your valuable trees and landscape.

Are you Fertilizing?

Are your annual plants looking a little pale and not as many blossoms as they had?
Its not just the flower its the fertilizer. Fertilize them everytime you water. 1 tsp of Daniels liquid plant food per gallon of water. It makes beautiful plants. If you have more petunias than other flowers, use Jack's Classic Petunia FeEd, 1 tbsp per gallon of water. Look at our petunia baskets at Johnson Motor Sales in New Richmond. These have been watered almost every day with two gallons of fertilized water. They are 18" hanging baskets of Improved Purple Wave and Easy Wave Blue Petunias. If you have questions about the fertilizer you have, just email or call and I can help.

These cold, sunny days are great for pruning.

Here is a great link from the UW extension on the dos and don'ts of pruning.
